Turkey Day Conversation Material

6 questions to ensure Thanksgiving dinner doesn't suck.

Howdy from Media, PA,

Last year, I wrote a Thanksgiving conversation starter piece.

It had the highest engagement of any of my 2022 newsletters.

So, without further ado, here’s the 2023 version of my Thanksgiving conversation starter newsletter.

6 Questions to Facilitate Great Conversation at Thanksgiving Dinner

Thanksgiving brings loved ones together from near and far. With the gathering of so many personalities comes a number of paths that conversation can lead.

Is your Uncle George going to discuss politics?

Will your cousin, Mark, talk incessantly about this past week’s OpenAI drama?

How many glasses of wine until your Aunt Amanda asks you about your dating life?

We can set you up to steer conversation to happier places.

Here are 6 questions to help you facilitate meaningful conversation that keeps folks present at the table:

  1. What is the goofiest/funniest thing that happened to you in 2023?

  2. Is there a challenge you faced this year that you’re now grateful for?

  3. What is something that gave you joy this year?

  4. What is the greatest act of love that you were on the receiving end of this year?

  5. What do you want to accomplish in December so that you can set yourself up for a great 2024?

  6. Despite the country's challenges, what's one thing that you are grateful for which might not be possible if you were born outside of the US?

I know that some readers may not be around a Thanksgiving table this year due to work obligations or life circumstances.

If that's the case for you, consider replying to this email with your answers to the questions above!

Thanks for reading

Let me know if you use the questions above/what your answers are!

Have a wonderful holiday ◡̈
